The Boiler Upgrade Scheme helps homeowners move away from traditional gas and oil heating systems by reducing the upfront cost of switching to an air source heat pump. Alongside lower emissions, heat pumps can provide efficient heating and hot water while supporting long-term energy performance.
Eligible properties can currently receive up to £7,500 towards an air source heat pump installation, making renewable heating more accessible while reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
PCL Net Zero manages the process as part of the wider installation, helping ensure systems are correctly designed and installed from the start.
How the scheme works
The Boiler Upgrade Scheme forms part of the wider heat pump installation process.

We begin with an initial discussion about your property, current heating system and whether a heat pump could be suitable.

A detailed survey and heat loss calculation are carried out to understand how the property performs and whether it meets scheme requirements.

System design
The system is designed and sized specifically for the property to ensure both eligibility and long-term performance.
04.
PCL Net Zero submits the Boiler Upgrade Scheme application on your behalf and manages the process directly.
05.
Once approved, the heat pump system is installed, commissioned and fully explained before handover.
